Weekend Jaunts: Sunday Edition

We find oddball things to on the weekend very intriguing. We have some normal and some not so normal events for you today. Chiefly, we are referencing going to a bar to watch 40 people compete in a guitar video game at a bar. As always feel free to add more events in the comments section.
- SOFA Chicago's Mark Lyman said this year's event will be "...the most international and the largest in terms of square footage that we have ever produced." SOFA (Sculptural Arts and Functional Objects) presents decorative fine art, all of which is for sale, at the Navy Pier Festival Hall, 600 E. Grand. This is the final day for the event and it runs from 12 p.m. - 6 p.m.
- Even if you've never played Guitar Hero (shame on you), watching 40 contestants play in the Guitar Hero II Release Party and Tournament at Darkroom would be a wise choice. It will be a head to head competition, where the two players pick a song and go at it. If they can't agree to a song, there will be a coin toss. The tourney starts at 7 p.m. and is at 2210 W. Chicago.
- We have been excited about this for a while, the brief return of Chicago's Ira Glass. Radio vs. Theater: The Final Smackdown returns to the School of the Art Institute of Chicago Ballroom, 112 S. Michigan. We are pretty sure it won't be the "final" smackdown, because they do it every year but, Ira will be going up against the playwright Beau O'Reilly in a set of dueling monologues. The event will going at 2 p.m., 5 p.m., and 8 p.m. Tickets are $20.
