Green Brown, the Answer Is Green Brown

We here at Chicagoist have lots of secrets; the location of our offices, our true hair color, and what exactly happened Friday night. We’re leery of telling our secrets, lest some rabid information-divulger decides today is the day to out us. So maybe, just maybe, we’ve sent some of our hidden thoughts in to PostSecret. If you don’t already know, PostSecret is a Web site where people anonymously mail in their juiciest, raunchiest and most depressing thoughts on a postcard, and those get posted on the Web site for all the world to read.
Frank Warren, creator of PostSecret has a new book out called "My Secret.” “My Secret” is filled with new postcards, never seen before, done by college age kids and teenagers, and seriously, who’s got more secrets than that group, eh? We’ve seen a few of these postcards, and some are not too surprising, like:
I truly believe all my problems would be solved if I were not fat.
And some are just envy-inducing:
I orgasm when I swim laps (only once and usually around the 400 meter mark).
PostSecret is a phenomenon, Warren receives over 20,000 postcards daily. Sometimes, though, we just find it too hard to read all those secrets; the emotions are so strong they can be overwhelming. But if anyone has anything interesting to say, it’s got to be Frank Warren — he knows more secrets than any of us.
You can see Frank Warren tonight, Nov. 15, at 7:30 p.m. at Barbara’s Bookstore, 1218 S. Halsted.
