Has the Sun Times Gone to the Dogs?

In a perfect world, this wouldn’t happen. A pro-child, pro-dog article running in the Sun Times as news?! How did we get to this place? Has the world gone to the dogs? Chicagoist thinks there is clearly some bias evident in this article. From the headline to the last sentence – this is purely pro-dog propaganda and we are putting the ST on notice. Until some cat is stolen out of the hands of a young girl with cancer and they give cats and cat lovers the equal time they deserve, the Sun Times is dead to us.
There aren’t many pertinent details regarding Clementine’s disappearance that night. (And we add, Clementine – how cute is that? Isn’t it tearing at your heartstrings right now? Don’t you feel bad? More bad than say if her name was Spot? Because we wouldn’t care about some dog named Spot. All a dog named Spot does is run away.) Here’s what we do know – the Bears were about to play. Aww, shucks. This family is all-American – they watch football. Not to mention the hometown team. The boy’s mother told him to not talk to strangers inquiring about the dog. They have values. The family lives in Lincoln Park – that oasis of no crime in the city of Chicago. Seriously, nothing bad ever happens there.
According to the police it is rare for a dog to be grabbed from its owner and sold, eaten, or forced to fight. It is not that rare for dogs to be stolen from yards or garages, however. When it comes to keeping Chicago, and therefore America, safe –we need to stop the “dogs are cute” faction of “journalists” that are masquerading as regular Joes who present us the news.
We are going to boycott the Sun Times until equal time is given to the rampant disappearance of cats all over Chicago. In fact, we sometimes see cats just running the streets mewing for food because they have been left to fend for themselves. How about some equal time for those children who have lost their kittens with mittens? Where’s the Sun Times on these feline matters?
We here at Chicagoist will keep fighting on your behalf to keep the issue of a free and unbiased press, which is necessary for a free society, in the forefront where it belongs.
Since, we're really not heartless, here's a page with advice for when your pet is lost.
