Chicagoist Happy Hour Returns!
By Scott Smith in Miscellaneous on Nov 20, 2006 7:00PM
It may be a “dead week” for the travel industry, but Chicagoist is livening things up next week with a Happy Hour for you, our readers, featuring after-work cocktails and live band karaoke from the Hootenanners.
With a slate of new writers, a redesigned site and the bracing cold of winter on its way, we’ve got a lot to celebrate. Our Happy Hours are a chance for us to get to know you, you to get to know us and our livers to get a little cirrhosis’ed.
This time out, we’ll be at Quencher’s in Logan Square, starting at 6 p.m. on November 30th. Remember: the earlier you arrive, the more likely you are to be able to partake in a free drink or two. Quencher’s also has a stellar menu, for those who need to put a foundation first.
If you can hang in late, The Hootenanners will bring some live band karaoke action at 10:30 p.m. Several Chicagoist writers were bitten by the LBK bug last week; Alicia’s Dorr’s blistering cover of “Bohemian Rhapsody” immediately became the stuff of legend. Start practicing your moves now.
So call it a Holiday Happy Hour. Or a Hootenanners Happy Hour. Just don’t call it an early night, or you’ll miss another Jesus Christ pose from Tankboy.
