Weekend Jaunts: Sunday Edition

By Timmy Watson in Arts & Entertainment on Dec 3, 2006 4:53PM

Interesting things going on this weekend, time to brush up sewing and get in a movie! As always feel free to add more events in the comments section.

  1. Hurry over to the Chicago Academy of the Arts, 1010 W. Chicago for the casting call for Fred Claus. This movie, starring Vince Vaughn, Paul Giamatti, and Kevin Spacey, will be filming in January 2007 in Chicago. Make sure to bring a color photograph and a pen and be sure to get there by 2:30 p.m.
  2. 06_12_03_sewing.jpgWe've never been to a brunchluck, but today could be the day. Messhall is having their Sewing Rebellion and Brunchluck event today from 1:00 p.m - 5:00 p.m. This event will teach you sewing tricks of the trade, just in time to make scarves for all your friends for the Holidays. This is a bi-monthly event at 6932 N. Glenwood.
  3. We usually take the opportunity to see Ira Glass when he is speaking around town. While Unaccompanied Minors isn't necessarily targeted to our age group, we are going to check out the first screening of the movie today where Ira Glass will talk about how radio translates to the theater. The event is $5 at 1:00 p.m. at AMC River East, 322 E. Illinois.
