Convince Us

Trout12_4_06.jpgWell, we can say with absolute joy that your recommendations for this month's Convince Us had us laughing out loud. Many of you suggested On the Road by Jack Kerouac, but alas, we've already read it, and it's been thrown across the room a couple of times already.

So the book that we picked, the book that we'll face with an open mind and sickening sense of dread will be Paris Trout by Peter Dexter. Tyler's description cracked us up:

Picture a combination of To Kill a Mockingbird and A Time to Kill written by a Playboy writer who lived in the South long enough to decide that he hated it and wanted to write a "Southern" novel full of stereotypes and biases.
.

We'll read the book and review it at the end of the month. Wish us luck.
