A Song for the Season

It's beginning to look a lot like tacky
Everywhere you go
Inflatable lawn ornaments everywhere
Blown up snow globes lit for flair
And people that think this is a good show?

It's beginning to look a lot like tacky
So much money thrown away
Plastic Santas in the creche
Lights tangled up in mesh
All for just one day

We don't mind decorations when they're tasteful and well placed
Small twinkling lights, a holly wreath -- plastic, not a trace
But take inflatable lawn ornaments and send them off to space

It's beginning to look a lot like tacky
We just don't see the need
To recreate the birth of Christ
With moving parts and lights
And a fake plastic nativity scene

It's beginning to look a lot like tacky
It's just gone way too far
People starting before Halloween
It's getting fucking obscene
It makes us want to go to the bar

It's beginning to look a lot like tacky
Kitsch -- there's more and more
But the worst thing that you see
Is the blow up tragedies
In the yard next door
Please no more ...
