Weekend Jaunts: Saturday Edition
By Timmy Watson in Arts & Entertainment on Dec 30, 2006 3:30PM
We must admit, we've had our setbacks this year. A new year sounds pretty enticing as we wipe the 2006 slate clean, but we figure we may as well finish off this year strong. There are multiple things going on this weekend that are notable, as always feel free to add additional events in the comments section.
- Start your weekend off right with some good music. Tonight at theHideout, 1354 W. Wabansia, The Venom Lords, Milk At Midnight, and TrapperKeeper will be playing at 8 p.m., followed by a dance party at 11:30 p.m. by Chicagoist's own DJ Tankboy.
- You will want to make sure to head out to car for a little break around
10:30 p.m.UPDATE: We'll be on at 10:00 p.m.. Don't forget Chicagoist editors Scott Smith and Rachelle Bowden will be guests on The Nick Digilio Show on WGN Radio 720 AM. The show will cover the best of worst around Chicago in 2006. - We suggest before ending out the year you head to the Museum of Contemporary Art OODA group's 12X12 exhibition. Collaborators Shaun Owens-Agase and Tyler Peterson focuses on the erroneous ways humankind has dealt with social systems and the propensity for military strength to yearn for global dominance. The OODA Group, which stands for observation, orientation, decision, and action, runs from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. at 220 E. Chicago.
