Eli's Cheesecake Tackles Football Fans as Next Market

By Laura Oppenheimer in Food on Jan 17, 2007 3:30PM

Peanuts? Nah. Burgers? For wusses. Beer? Not a chance.

2007_1_bears.jpegTrue Bears fans are eating Eli's Cheesecake's Bears-themed sweets instead of the usual stadium stuff. Pastry Chef Laurel Boger went on ABC 7 yesterday to introduce Eli's collection of orange and blue treats. Among the ideas Boger introduced are football cookies, orange and blue cupcakes, Go Bears cakes, dippers, and orange-and-blue brownie cheesecake, all of which can be made at home or ordered from Eli's. We were particularly interested in snagging a bite of Eli's Orange Dream Cheesecake Shake, which includes cheesecake, ice cream, frozen orange juice concentrate, candied orange peels and blueberries. Yum!

For those of you who are "FUNemployed," (as in able to do fun things on a random Wednesday morning) Eli's is also having a pep rally today at their factory at 6701 W. Forest Preserve Dr., at 11 a.m. At the pep rally, teachers from Dance Mates will be teaching people how to dance the Super Bowl Shuffle.
