  • Because everyone has their say on the subject, here's what Crain's thinks is wrong with the CTA.
  • El Pistolero vs. El Piolin: Two Mexican shock jocks are in a tight race for Spanish-language listeners. Chicago is the #3 Spanish radio market in the country.
  • The LA Times on why LA is better than Chicago for the Olympics.
  • The Morton Arboretum is having a festival of Tu B'Shvat, the traditional Jewish tree-planting celebration known as the "New Year of the Trees." There will be crafts, storytelling, music, walks and a traditional Jewish (Kosher) buffet dinner. This takes place Feb. 3. Events from 1 - 5 p.m. and dinner at 5:30. Reservations are required for dinner.
  • The University of Chicago Folklore Society is having a festival of traditional music from Feb. 2 - 4. The festival features traditional music from around the country including Irish, Klezmer, Cajun, Old Time, Bluegrass, Chicago Blues, and Gospel.
  • A Series of Fortunate Events runs from Jan. 26th - Feb. 9th at the Lloyd Dobler Gallery. Gallery hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5-10pm and by appointment.
