And There Were Guns A-Blazin'

We know Tank Johnson's busy getting ready for the Super Bowl and stuff, but Chicagoland isn't going to let those guns go unused.

  • A man walked into a South Side restaurant Sunday night, fired two shots and hit a woman in the hand and a man in the leg. Then he cruised off into Washington Park. A leg shot gets you a trip to Northwestern, while a shot to the hand earns you a trip to Provident Hospital. They're both in stable condition, just in case you're wondering.
  • A good way to definitely earn yourself a body shot (not of the Girls Gone Wild kind)? Walk into a police station and just raise up a gun. That's what a man did yesterday afternoon over in the Third District. He got shot in the left arm. He's recovering from non-life threatening injuries. The sad part is that when he came in, he was looking distraught and maybe was going to try and kill himself. It would have been terrible if an officer did it for him in self-defense.
  • And it's not just the young kids in the city getting involved in gunplay. The elderly in the suburbs know how to bring the house down, too. Virginia L. Choromanski, of Huntley, shot her husband, Fred, after an argument. He is in critical but stable condition from the wound to his upper right chest, and now from his marriage of of 42 years.

Keep up the good work, kids! Guns make the world safe for everyone!
