Bad Morning Bus Ride? Not as Bad as These Kids'

When we think of a “hectic start to the day,” we think of stumbling around the room in a dazed state, tripping on the dumbbells we swear we’re going to start using while blindly searching for our contacts, and later, our keys.
For some kids in Lisle, however, a fire on a school bus apparently constituted their “hectic start."
On Monday morning, the driver of a bus carrying 12 Benet Academy High School students noticed the engine smoking just before pulling into the school parking lot. Thinking quickly, the driver thankfully got the students safely off the bus, and the bus quickly “burst into flames,” with the fire engulfing the entire vehicle.
Benet Academcy principal Stephen Marth said that one positive came from the fire. Instead of continuously having to listen to ornery teenagers complain about how, like, totally boring those emergency drills are, school officials can now “point to this circumstance, as it was crucial students knew what to do and how to evacuate properly."
And last but not least, let's not forget what wonderful preparation this event will be for the occasionally "hectic" morning CTA ride!
