Drink Up, America!

If you're like us, you've already got a ton of friends coming over to watch the State of the Union Address tonight. 2007_1_bushdrinking.jpg And if you're like us, it takes you at least three drinks just to listen to Bush for more than 10 minutes. So if you're going to get shitfaced, why not make it fun? We here at Chicagoist are pleased to present you with a few ideas for liquefied entertainment this evening.

The obvious place to start is here for your more traditional drinking games; one drink for every time Bush mentions "the American people", one drink when he says “The state of our union is strong…" (or some version of this), or our favorite, doing a Car Bomb if he mentions "sectarian violence". We're going to try and make it to the Bonus Round, and hope that we don't see two Jim Webbs at the end of the evening.

For the more advanced arm chair pundit, may we suggest Will Durst's version, with the added bonus of getting to play dress-up. If you're not feeling particularly creative, or if you are drinking alone (one of our favorite pastimes), feel free to try the Wonkette approach.

As for us? We want to keep it local, so every time Obama comes up, we're going to have a cigarette with our drink.
