This news came in just in time for your commute home, Evanstonians & Skokites.

This afternoon in a train yard just north of Howard, an out-of-service Red Line train derailed. It seems like the Red Line is back in order, but there are problems still on the Purple and Yellow Lines.

Purple Line Express service has been canceled, though local service between Linden and South Boulevard will still operate. A bus shuttle is in place between the South Boulevard and Howard stations in both directions.

The Yellow Line is not operating at all. The #97 Skokie bus is recommended as an alternative.

At least we still have this.
