Illiana Will Probably Last Longer Than Bennifer

The Indiana Department of Transportation says quit yer bellyachin'. The proposed "Illiana" expressway route will not be determined by evil, land-grabbing developers; it will be determined by a state environmental study.
The expressway, which the Indiana Senate OK'd, would connect Interstate 57 in Illinois with Interstate 94 in LaPorte County.
Of course, the fact that plans will have to go through environmental and state checks before developers can begin the final phases does not mean that the power of eminent domain won't be thrown about without a care in the world. Those Indiana residents in the proposed path of the expressway have their doubts about whether they will, ahem, have land anymore. Of course, their cries may be drowned out by those who are excited about easing congestion (Chicagoland) and those who will make lots and lots of money for their state by farming (no pun intended) it out to private developers (Gov. Mitch Daniels). We shall see.
