Hometown Girls

The fairer sex showed us last night that "American Idol" might still able to produce an "American Idol." After the identity crisis of the men on Tuesday night, the women came to show the dudes how it's done.

Our two natives, Gina Glocksen and Leslie Hunt did OK. We weren’t particularly blown away by either. We know Leslie is a well-loved hometown girl, and we do like her pretty midwestern looks, but she needs to relax and get into it. Simon was right, she looked uncomfortable and like she was trying just a little too hard. The girl can sing, no doubt about it, but she’s got to relax her body and shake her nerves.

Lakisha2_22_07.jpgGina did an OK job too. We were definitely worried at the beginning of “All By Myself” but were pretty impressed by the end when she hit her high notes. We think she just needs to show her rocker side a little more, show Cowell what she’s made of.

But of course all was forgotten once Lakisha Jones hit the stage, all the women and men and every other idol ever were forgotten for that matter. Lakisha Jones and Melinda Doolittle are going to battle out this season.

Tonight? We think we’re going to see the demise of Amy Krebs and Rudy Cardenas. Leslie and Gina are going to last a bit longer, we just want to see them loosen up a bit.
