Long-Awaited Opening of the Boring Store Finally Here

07_02_24_inspectorgadget.jpg826CHI, the not-for-profit writing/tutoring center, has finally opened "The Boring Store" at 1331 N. Milwaukee. Noted as "Chicago's only undercover secret agent supply store" it will feature grappling hooks, dissolving paper and anything else you may need to complete your super-secret mission.

The 826 family consists of chapters around the country and uses creative ways to tutor kids aged 6 - 18, focusing on the idea that one-on-one attention can provide a necessary link between school life and home.

To volunteer for the group, simply fill out this form. They mostly look for people with availability in the afternoon hours during the week, when the kids get out of school, but they need people to help out in the store and do have some weekend programs, so all of us with a 9 - 5 can still contribute.

Back to the "Bland Opening" of the Boring Store, which was last night. All proceeds from sales go to supporting the tutoring work, and it will now be open every day from noon - 6 p.m., just make sure you aren't being followed when you go. This post will self-destruct in five minutes.
