We Are All on Drugs — Including Your Dog

sick.dog.03While there is still no cure for myriad human ailments, dog lovers will be happy to know that Fido is on Pfizer's radar.

The drug company announced an answer to the persistent, troublesome problem of dog ralfing — a drug called Cerenia (not that one), which the FDA approved to prevent and/or treat your vomiting dog.

Cerenia is designed to help dogs that vomit due to treatments for chemotherapy, parvovirus and pancreatitus, among other things. It can also prevent motion sickness for your dog if he's prone to tossing his cookies when you take him in the car or on the airplane or on your bicycle built for two.

If your dog is being treated for severe illness or if he's just a puker, you can get the drug through your vet. As for the rest of us, all we can do is sit back and wait for what can only be the most exciting and amusing drug commercial ever to be seen on television between nightly news spots.
