Weekend Jaunts
By Timmy Watson in Arts & Entertainment on Mar 10, 2007 4:04PM
The jaunts will be short this week as most of us get out and enjoy the sunshine. We were walking around this morning and people just seem happier. Which is all the more reason to get out tonight for some good music.
- We plan on getting intimate with Ambulette and Maura Davis' intensely mesmerizing voice at Schubas, 3159 N. Southport. Davis splits her time between Richmond and Charlotte and comes to Chicago to rehearse with the rest of the band. Tonights show will kick off a month and a half long tour. Joining Ambulette at Schubas will be The New Trust with The Wiitala Brothers.
- Today is also The Hideout's SXSW "sending the Four Star City to the Lone Star State". Catfish Haven, The Narrator, Tijuana Hercules, Smoking Popes, The Redwalls, The Prairie Cartel, The New Duncan Imperials, The Race, Maritime, Velcro Lewis & his 100 Proof Band, The Zincs, The M's, OFFICE, Sybris, and The 1900s. Tickets are only $10, but re-entry is only allowed based on capacity, which we assume the Hideout, 1354 W. Wabansia, will fill up pretty quickly.
