Taking It Too Far

Over the weekend, Chicagoist first mentioned Rebecca Klein. At that time, the 32-year-old Villa Park woman had been missing since Friday, and her family had created a blog in hopes that someone out on the internets had information about her disappearance.
Since then, her body was found in the trunk of a Ford Mustang in her garage, changing this to a homicide investigation.
It has come to the attention of Chicagoist that, in this family's time of grief, numerous reporters are using the comments portion of Klein's blog to ask for information; each request following a template of, "we are so sorry to hear of your loss, please contact me for a story I am working on."
Come on now, people! In this age of insane media coverage and up-to-the-minute spewing of facts, there has to be a line in which reporters and journalists know not to cross. The comments from reporters began within hours of the discovery of Klein's body. Hours. On the family's personal web site. Frankly, we're nauseous.
To Those Rude, Tactless Reporters: Shame on you! Wait for information to be released voluntarily via the appropriate sources.
To the Family of Ms. Klein: Our deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences. We're not looking for any information, we genuinely mean that.
