• A 59-year-old woman was found strangled to death inside a car on the Eisenhower. A person is being held in connection.
• A man was driving a minivan down Ashland in Pilsen when the brakes gave out and he crashed into a police squadrol (squad car/patrol wagon). The driver and two officers were taken to the hospital.
• Some guy went on a stabbing spree last night in the western suburbs. Luckily, no one was killed.
• ComEd has been downgraded to junk status by Moody's Investor Services.
• Property tax bills are set to increase by 44% on average.
• The Brown's Chicken case is finally going to trial.
• New City YMCA is closing and will just be called "New City" as developers put in 490 housing units, restaurants, and retail shops.
• Burton Snowboards is opening its largest store in North America in the Gold Coast.
