"Börk! Börk! Börk!"

When we have our inevitable bypass surgery, we want to have it done at Swedish Covenant Hospital. That way we can eat cage-free eggs and grass-fed beef.
The Sun-Times reports today on Swedish Covenant becoming the first hospital in the country to implement a cage-free policy on all its eggs, citing desires to provide the best food possible and buy eggs from humanely treated animals. Although one patient quoted in the article said that he couldn't tell any noticeable difference between standard and cage-free eggs, another said that "if you don't buy the best, you'd be cheating yourself." The cost of buying cage-free eggs for Swedish covenant is about sixty cents more per dozen than regular eggs, but the decision is not cost-prohibitive. Swedish Covenant also uses grass-fed beef, and it offers organic fruit and vegetable selections for their patients and in their cafeteria.
Wonder if they make an organic "salad ala boom-boom?"
