Pitchfork Performer Prattle

By Julene McCoy in Arts & Entertainment on Apr 18, 2007 1:00PM

2007_04_pforkcrop.jpgIt’s been a while since we mentioned the alternative to Lollapalooza. So, we decided that we’d take this opportunity to mix that with some information about one of the performers slated to appear at the Pitchfork Music Festival this summer.

Anxiously awaiting the latest news about Stephen Malkmus? The Good: It looks like everyone is so happy with the new songs that have been committed to tape that Matador wants to release it in early 2008, or October 2007, if they're feeling really ambitious. The Bad: Stephen will be sans Janet Weiss for the Pitchfork date because she’ll be busy touring with Bright Eyes.

That’s enough for Malkmus. We never properly listed who was playing Pitchfork since the whole thing was just rumors — so, there’s a little reminder after the jump of why tickets need to be bought sooner, rather than later, for fun in the blistering sun.
