Weekend Jaunts

We've always considered ourselves to have quite a bit of confidence in our city, stepping onto the pavement this morning, seeing happy people and their dogs, we couldn't help but smile and take a deep breath of some long awaited warm air. It's always important to stay on top of the game though, so this weekend we thought we would take a stab at improving on this. We agree with the Chicago Center for Green Technology, we should definitely be ranked higher, but we won't let our egotism get in the way. As part of the first Earth Month Chicago there are lots of green things to do this weekend and here are a few.
- The Chicago Green Festival is on Saturday from 10:00 a.m - 8 p.m. and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. at McCormick Place, 2301 S. Lake Shore. Featuring an eco-mall and amazing guest speakers, you can have an organic beer while shopping for some eco-clothes and solar panels.
- Al Gore would be proud of you for making it to the Chicago Green Festival, it would make him happier if you went and saw the free screening of An Inconvenient Truth at Claudia Cassidy Theater, 77 E. Randolph. The screening starts at 1:00 p.m.
- It's always good to see socially active high school students, so we are going to the Green Scene at Northside Prep, 5501 N. Kedzie Ave from noon - 5:00 p.m. Cool vendors, including Veggie Bite and Swap Simple (bring some shit to swap!) will be there and the event will focus on how to make your life a little more eco-friendly.
