Getcher Dance On

2007_04_justice.gifWhile there's lots o' rock and/or roll shows going on this weekend, we feel we're neglecting the portion of our audience that wants to shake shake shake their booties. Well, tonight we have you covered from dusk to dawn.

Panic! is the long-running party that celebrates all things Anglophilic and retro. However it's only been one year since they relocated from SmartBar to Darkroom, where their party has blossomed into a meet and greet for the beautiful people and the freaky nerds. We dig the mix of attendees, but we dig the mix of music even more. Usually each session opens with Arturo providing a mix along a theme, before retiring to the projector to work the visuals over the impeccably coiffed (and musically astute) Pogo's selections of Pulp, The Cure, and Bowie. Tonight, to celebrate their birthday, they've enlisted the aesthetically like-minded Chicago group Welcome To Ashley, and we sure hope corks start popping when they play their own anthem of sorts, "Cheap Champagne."

Later in the evening, and across town, French duo Justice takes to the decks at SmartBar. (Anyone else getting a circle of life vibe from this? No? Just us? OK then.) Justice has been churning out insanely hot remixes over the past few years and are readying the American soil for the drop of their debut, , in July. Right now you can't walk into a club or bar in Chicago that isn't seemingly spinning their latest single "D.A.N.C.E." on repeat. If it weren't such a perfect slice of rubbery house, we'd probably be sick of it by now, but we admit that all it takes is the playground intro to get our hands clapping. Get there early if you even hope to stake out enough room to get some decent dancing in ...
