Bloggiest Hoods in the Country

07_04_29_rogerspark.jpgOutside.in, the aggregator of all things in neighborhoods across the country, recently tallied their numbers of neighborhood specific blogging and released the top 10 "bloggiest" neighborhoods in the country. Coming in at number 5 was Rogers Park/North Howard. Outside.in describes the neighborhood as, "Located in one of the last remaining pockets of poverty in Chicago's North Side, it‘s home to a culturally diverse group of residents that have very mixed feelings about the rapid gentrification."

The local blogger mentioned in the description is 24/7 North of Howard Watchers. Other bloggers in the area, to name a few, are MorseHellhole, RogersParkBench, Rogers Park Neighbors, and The Living Room In Rogers Park. The Tribune wrote of the recent focus of Tori's posts, the blogger at 24/7 North of Howard Watchers, regarding the aldermanic runoff between Joe Moore and Don Gordon. Surprisingly, the Tribune turned the article into a question of "...passion or zealotry." Shocking.

The rankings were based on total number of posts, total number of local bloggers, number of comments and Technorati ranking for the bloggers. The overall theme with the top 10 seemed to be neighborhoods that are facing gentrification and changing landscape, both aesthetically and politically.
