Not That Kind of Porn, You Pervert

We love food porn at Chicagoist. Like "porn" porn, food porn isn't as good as the real thing ... but that doesn't seem to stop us from lusting after the food featured so beautifully on blogs like La Tartine Gourmande.

Another fan of beautiful food photography is Chicago foodie site LTH Forum who announced this week that they are sponsoring a food photography contest. While the prizes are on the puny side — first prize is having your photo "called out as such to the general acclaim and admiration of the LTHForum community" — we're still into it, because we figure, the more beautiful photos of food out there, the better.

Of particular interest to Chicagoist was the "Newish Poster-Photographers" category. One of our pet peeves with LTH is how insular is seems; everyone seems to know each other on the site, and when you are a newcomer, it can be intimidating. The "Newish Poster" category is only for people who have less than 250 posts on the site, so if you have been feeling nervous about jumping into the depths of LTH forum, this is a great way to start.
