Weekend Jaunts

By Timmy Watson in News on May 12, 2007 1:30PM

If you are horrible kids like we are, you won't be able to make it home this weekend to see mum. There will be plenty to do this weekend to keep your mind off of it though. Besides, it's always great to take advantage of the great Mother's Day brunch specials around town.

  • Bike (Re)Cycle Chicago and Chase Bank will be taking your old bike off your hands this weekend at the branch at 3335 N. Ashland. The bikes will be donated to Working Bikes Cooperative, one of our favorite places around. The cooperative will fix up some bikes and sell them here, the funding raised at the shop located at 1125 S. Western goes towards shipping bikes locally and internationally in areas in need.
  • Ah, Mother's Day brunch. As we indicated earlier, we are headed to Adobo Grill. We had the opportunity to go last year and trust us, it did not disappoint. We remember being unable to move for the remainder of the day, but when else do you have the opportunity for unlimited guacamole? The brunch runs from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. and is $21.95, $10.95 for kids 10 and under. You can head to either location, the Wicker Park version at 2005 W. Division St. or the Old Town location at 1610 N. Wells St.
