Memorial Day weekend is nigh! That means summer is officially here and girl-watching season is in full force. We thought we’d dedicate today’s EOYW to all the ladies who make summer worthwhile.

Amanda Leigh Moore has been cultivating that girl next door image her entire life. We’re not sure how Mandy has managed to avoid the pitfalls of excess that other Hollywood divas her age seem to revel in, but this movie and television star is sure to have at least one song on her upcoming album Wild Hope that will sound great when screamed loudly from a convertible.
June 12, Park West, $20, all ages, on sale Saturday 10:00 a.m.

2007_05_getthegore_cvr.jpgThe Gore Gore Girls hail from Detroit and mix that great Motown sound with the harder elements of Detroit’s garage sound. Mix one part sweet with two parts sleaze to create a live show that has been called bacchanalian. Sounds like our idea of a good time.
July 14, Beat Kitchen, $10-$12, 18+, on sale now

Au Revoir Simone play gentle, airy, synth-driven pop. Overall, the consensus seems to be that pretty girls are making pretty music. The Bird of Music released this month finds the band growing tighter and more musically accomplished after much live practice on tours with Peter Bjorn & John and We Are Scientists.
August 17, Abbey Pub, $12, 18+, on sale Saturday at noon

Have a safe and fun holiday weekend! Remember to thank the ladies who bring music into your life this summer. We like free drinks, compliments (not catcalls), and tickets to see live music.
