Live and Uncensored, But Not Cheap

By Justin Sondak in Arts & Entertainment on Aug 16, 2007 9:55PM

famguy_2007_08.gifThe cast of Family Guy will hit Chicago next month to present, live and uncensored, a “classic episode” of the animated series. Perhaps you love the show but would rather see it delivered by actors on book accompanied, Rocky Horror-style, by hundreds of Stewie groupies reciting their favorite punchlines. If so, get your butt down to the Chicago Theatre box office tomorrow morning in time to nab the close-enough-to-smell-Seth-Green’s-mousse seats.

A hit at Montreal’s Just For Laughs Festival, Family Guy Live! is five actors recreating an episode plus bonus material, singing “memorable musical numbers,” and answering your hard-hitting questions about the making of a cult classic living in perpetuity on YouTube.

Don’t believe us? Behold this video excerpt of the live show and a gateway to thousands of Peter, Lois and Stewie clips, legal or otherwise:

Family Guy Live! plays at The Chicago Theatre, 175 North State Street, Chicago, September 15 at 7 and 10 p.m. Tickets are $39.50 - 69.50 and go on public sale Friday at 10 a.m. at the theater box office and Ticketmaster.
