Focus, People, Focus

Pantagrapher captured a photo of what nearly every window in Chicago looked like last night during the thunderstorm-cum-typhoon that descended upon the city.
We unbelievably managed to convince ourselves that going to an improv show was a good enough excuse to risk fallen trees and electrocution, but our journey to i.O. was certainly not without a touch of drama. While walking down Belmont, we found a wide patch of the street that was completely flooded from curb to curb, with some pedestrians standing on an elevated base of a fence to avoid being soaked by the deep waters. Although we managed to bound through effortlessly with the help of a pair of wellies, it was certainly unlike anything we'd ever experienced in the city.
What about you, Chicagoist readers? Everyone we know seems to have a story from the evening -- what are yours?
