What to do?

Yup, it's Halloween night. And, assuming you're not completely incapacitated from celebrating this holiday for the last week, you're probably blinded by the flurry of options on how to spend tonight. Allow us to make a few suggestions.
- We talked to Jesse Thorn a couple days ago about his The Sound Of Young America show. Well tonight is the live 8 p.m. taping at Second City's e.t.c. stage. Thorn will be interviewing engineer and Shellac-man Steve Albini. The show also includes performances from Hannibal Buress, sketch duo Team Submarine, Schadenfreude, and members of Second City. The price? FREE!
- Major Taylor and Flosstradamus will tear up Subterranean tonight. Expect a full-on dance party populated by people who spend 30 minutes making sure their hair looks like they just woke up, girls kissing girls, and girls kissing impossibly skinny boys. We josh, it'll be fun.
- It would take a lot to get us to go to Cubby Bear on any other night, but hearing that Live Band Karaoke is doing Skaraoke tonight is reason enough for us to venture into that uncertain territory! Expect lots of "Running With The Devil" and "The Number Of The Beast." And puking, there will probably be puking too.
- The Detholz! are famous for their annual Halloween shows at The Empty Bottle. They take songs you either forgot you loved, or actively outright hated, and turn them into something new. You might find yourself walking out humming a Phil Collins tune. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
Any other ideas? Share 'em with us in the comments. Also, a couple Chicagoist staffers will be DJing and bartending a Halloween party at The Burlington tonight, so if you can't decide on anything else stop by and say hi!
