Stand (Up) and Deliver

If you have a chance to see Patton Oswalt live, take it. A few months ago at the Lakeshore, we saw him do the best stand-up set we've ever seen — and lo, Chicagoist sees a lot of stand-up. Ever since, we've been dying to see him again, and tonight is our opportunity and yours: The Comedians of Comedy are doing a show at the Vic tonight at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $29 and aren't sold out yet, which is ... astonishing.
Oswalt's headlining, but the rest of the bill is top-notch, too: Brian Posehn, Maria Bamford, Eugene Mirman, Doug Benson and John Mulaney. Whew! We're particularly excited to see Posehn, who will in our mind always be Rodrigo from the "no gay son of mine is a not-gay" Mr. Show sketch. (Posehn enters at 1:37.) The extremely adorable Mulaney killed when he opened for Oswalt at the Lakeshore and has been tearing it up recently. Fellow Best Week Ever commentator Benson might have been slumming it on Last Comic Standing, but he was hilarious, and we've never been disappointed in a Mirman set. Bamford's material is never what you think it's going to be, and we've been digging her stuff more and more. Should be an amazing show.
