Illinois-wide roundup. Holla!
Steve Skoklo faces up to three years in prison if he's convicted on charges of animal cruelty. He allegedly killed a kitten by slamming it against a door frame and throwing it to the floor. At a bar. In front of a bunch of people who were petting the stray.
A Harvey woman who tried to sever her Rottweiler's tail with a meat cleaver — in her driveway — was charged with animal cruelty yesterday. Neighbors say they saw Sonja Jackson cut the dog and called the police, who arrested Jackson and took the dog to Chicago Ridge Animal Welfare League.
And we'll warn you right now, you don't want to read this last blurb. OK. It's on you: Lake Villa resident Robert Schultz left his sleeping infant son in one room while he and his girlfriend went to another room to sleep. But the baby wasn't alone. He was with the girlfriend's dachshund. "Police believe the dog smelled urine in the child's diaper and began to chew at the diaper until he mutilated and ingested the child's genitals." Schultz has been charged with two misdemeanor counts of child endangerment and one count of domestic battery.
Pictured is Schnitzel, who's available for adoption and doesn't eat genitals as far as we can tell.
