pHree Show Tonight!

By Justin Sondak in Arts & Entertainment on Nov 12, 2007 8:40PM

pH Productions hit our radar when they started pHlooding the Hottix page with their uniquely titled late-night shows, like pHamily and pHrenzy pHucked. Then came their emails, replete with creative pHonetics: “Hi pHans… pHrenz-o-ween is coming!”

The company was started by a handful of comedians who quickly established a niche for delivering slightly more affordable late night improv comedy at Lakeview’s Stage Left. Each audition attracted more aspiring comedians, and pH now has a 24-member cast, a packed roster of shows, and a lengthy alumni roll.

phbday_2007_11.jpgTonight’s 5th Anniversary Bash celebrates pH’s enviable success, and provides a sampling of favorite shows performed by the ensemble and special guests Jill Valentine (Cupid Players), Lori McClain (Second City, Baby Wants Candy), and Don Hall (WNEP). pHun and a pHew laughs will likely pHollow.

pH’s 5th Anniversary Birthday Bash is 7 p.m. tonight at the Lakeshore Theater, 3175 N Broadway. It’s free, “with a modest suggested donation for the generous of spirit.”
