This Just In: Obama Did Drugs in High School

File this one under "Color Us Surprised": Obama was interested in girls, drank alcohol and experimented with drugs in high school.
Obama made a campaign stop at a study hall in Manchester New Hampshire yesterday and answered students' questions. Prior to meeting with the students, Obama unveiled an $18 billion plan that would expand public education from pre-school through 12th grade. He also criticized No Child Left Behind. To their credit, the high schoolers had thoughtful questions for the Junior Senator from Illinois, asking him about the war in Iraq and his plans for education funding. In fact, It wasn't until vice principal John Mailhut asked Obama about his youth that the non-revelation came out.
Of course, the media ate it up, with Lynn Sweet doing a piece for her "blog" entitled "Obama tells students drugs, booze in his past." Even that opportunist Rudy Giuliani got in on the media mayhem, telling Sweet "one of the things we need from our people running for office is not this pretense of perfection. The reality is all of us that run for public office...we’re all human beings. If we haven’t made mistakes, don’t vote for us". Obama's policy ideas aren't unique. Every candidate has Big Plans for America on the campaign trail. When the hot story that comes off the campaign trail isn't an education plan that focuses on more teachers and early childhood, but rather a "revelation" that is more than a decade old, the press does little to uplift the political discourse in presidential politics.
