Lunch With Robert Novak

By Kevin Robinson in News on Nov 29, 2007 4:20PM

2007_11_bobby.jpgEveryone's favorite libertarian think tank is taking its show on the road! The Cato Institute is hosting a luncheon with Robert Novak today at the Drake Hotel. Registration starts at 10:30, but you'll want to get there early, as several senior Cato fellows will be addressing the crowd of local paleoconservatives and free marketeers. Randal O'Toole, an expert on urban growth and planning issues, kicks off the event with his keynote address, The Best-Laid Plans: Why We Should Shut Down All Government Planning Offices, followed by Senior Fellow Jerry Taylor's speech dispelling the myths of ethanol. And supply-side economist Daniel Mitchell will warm the crowd up for Novak with his discussion of the possibility that the US will become a French-style welfare state.

When he isn't outing CIA agents and smearing Barack Obama in his nationally syndicated column, Novak is promoting his new book, The Prince of Darkness: 50 Years Reporting in Washington. His speech is scheduled for 2PM.
