Comptrollin' Tomorrow Night!

What do you get when you combine an elaborate set design, rock and roll magicians, acoustic custom poetry, and a melange of feel-good local bands? A whole lotta awesome, that's what.
Tomorrow night, newly created local label Comptroller Records debuts its new bimonthly showcase, nay, REVUE, at Ronny's, proving it represents more than just a collection of local musical acts. The show promises to include a debut set by the Spectacles, raw tracks from the Fake Fictions' forthcoming album Krakatoa, and an always enthusiastic performance by Chicagoist faves The Sharks. All of this, in addition to a custom set created by local artist Mechazilla, an acoustic set by Mark Danjer of Poem2Song (you send poetry; they set it to music!) and punk rock illusionists Magic Superstars. Yes, you read correctly. Chicagoist hears these guys put on quite a show by creating choreographed illusions and magic tricks, all set to "a loud rock and roll soundtrack." Awesome. Just make sure you're fully sober for this one, kids. We don't want to have to babysit any bad trips.
Comptrollin' on a Saturday Night kicks off tomorrow night at 9 p.m. at Ronny's (2101 N. California Ave.) and will continue on the second Saturday of every other month.
