Under-Appreciated Holiday Movies: So Bad It's Good Edition

By Margaret Lyons in Arts & Entertainment on Dec 11, 2007 7:00PM

There are tons and tons of Christmas movies out there, many of which are classics and many more of which are "classics." These are some of our favorite but often overlooked holiday-themed uh, treasures:

The 1986 Drew Barrymore/Keanu Reeves/ Pat Morita/Richard Mulligan Babes In Toyland is almost unbelievable in its surpassing lunacy. Between the "Cincinnati" song and the evil villain who lives in a bowling ball, this movie simply screams "Christmas."

Oh, there's plenty more where that came from.....

Prancer fits in the "we're the only ones who can save Christmas" subgenre of holiday fare, this time with an escaped reindeer and supernaturally whiny children.

Bea Arthur singing on The Star Wars Holiday Special fills us all with the spirit of Life Day.

Seeing is believe, according to Santa Claus: The Movie. We believe this movie takes itself awfully seriously for a film with animatronic reindeer in it. Also, too many weird beards.

And don't forget about A Diva's Christmas Carol, inexplicably and tragically absent from YouTube.
