Bulls Acting Goofy in Orlando

By Benjy Lipsman in News on Jan 16, 2008 8:10PM

2008_01_sports_joakim_bigben.jpgIt's been quite a week for Bulls rookie Joakim Noah. After a confrontation with Bulls assistant coach Ron Adams, Noah was suspended for a game. Then his teammates voted to suspend him an additional game.

So when Noah saw joking and general apathy on the bench while the team was getting their ass kicked by the Orlando Magic, he wasn't about to stay silent.

According to witnesses, Noah confronted Ben Wallace -- who supposedly initiated the player-enacted benching -- about his attitude. Luol Deng had to step in to break the two of them up.

A franchise with high expectations that under-performing and teammates coming to blows? Where have we heard that before?

The Cubs looked like their season was going down the tubes when tempers flared in their dugout. But the team went on a run following the incident and ended up making the playoffs.

Do this latest Bulls incident foretell a turnaround and run for the post-season, or is this truly a season on the brink? GM John Paxson's got about a month before the trading deadline to figure that out.
