++ Only 34 percent of Illinois sex ed teachers talk about condom use, 68 percent talk about birth control, and 30 percent have never been trained to teach sexual health courses, according to a study commissioned by the Illinois Caucus for Adolescent Health. The authors of the study blame abstinence-only federal funding.
++ Scum of the earth & co. stole computers from a Blue Island school for students with special needs. The police caught them, and the computers are going to be recovered.
++ Ashley Ross, 17, of Schamburg, was charged with felony possession of a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon, and not having a FOID card because she had a gun in her car. Prosecutors say that Ross was planning on shooting two of her high school classmates. She got the gun from a 14-year-old Schaumburg junior high student, who has also been charged.
++ Bill and Melinda Gates are checking under their couch cushions for CPS and donating $10 million to fix three failing high schools.
