Hillary to Supporters: We Need Money!

Is it possible to be the inevitable presidential nominee of the Democratic Party in America and not have the funds to carry on? That's a question that Hillary Clinton's campaign is facing after she loaned her campaign $5 million. Clinton's staffers are also working without pay, and she loaned her campaign $5 million last month. Shortly after the announcement yesterday, an email went out to her supporters asking for additional funds:
We had a great day yesterday. Now we must keep that momentum going. You have sustained me throughout this journey, and I am calling on you again to give our campaign the resources we need to win critical upcoming races."We had a great month fundraising in January, but my opponent was able to raise more money. We intended to be competitive and we were. I think the results last night proved the wisdom of my investment," Clinton said in a press conference outside her campaign headquarters in Arlington, VA yesterday. According to her campaign, Clinton raised around $13 million last month, excluding the $5 million loan. Obama collected $32 million, according to campaign manager David Plouffe. Adding to Clinton's money woes is a report that Obama's campaign is on track to raise another $30 million this month.I've never asked so much of you as I am now: $3 million in three days. But the need has never been so great.
