Go buy your tickets, people. The jackpots of two different lotteries have grown significantly over the weekend, after no jackpot winner selected all the winning numbers in each game.
The Illinois Lottery has grown to $2.75 million after no player matched all six winning numbers in Saturday night’s drawing. 25 players matched five of the six winning numbers, and they all receive second prizes of $994 each. 1,229 matched four of the six for a third prize of whopping $36.50 each. Saturday night’s draw had the winning numbers: 17, 22, 24, 25, 44, and 49.
In another game, the multi-state Mega Millions lottery, the jackpot has grown to a cool $220 million after no one player selected all the winning numbers in Friday’s draw. The winning picks for Friday were: 7, 11, 26, 30, 53, and Mega Ball, 14. Damn. Our numbers.
The odds of matching all five numbers and the mega ball are 1 in 175,711,536. The jackpot starts at $12 million and continues to grow until someone wins. The next drawing will be Tuesday at 10 p.m. [Trib, Mega Millions]
