Shooting the Boot

shootingtheboottwo022308.jpgIt might just be the biggest beer in the city of Chicago, and of course, we drank it. We've always wondered about the glass boot at the Chicago Brauhaus - leave it to the Germans to find new and interesting ways to drink. Earlier this week we decided to see what all the fuss was about, and two liters of Bitburger later, we were bloated with knowledge. And beer.

How much can one expect to pay for Das Boot (as it's misnamed/called in Beerfest)? A credit card deposit of $55 ("You break the boot, you buy the boot!") is required and it's $25 for the beer - or you could just get one of these and enjoy a boot at home. But then you wouldn't get the schnitzel. Or Gody. And here we were thinking that the 40oz'ers of Old English or Mickeys at Lakeview Broadcasting Company were as big as it gets. Other than the 100 gallon beer for the Toast To Harry this week, are there any other gargantuan beers in Chicago bars that we're missing?
