Spazz-poppers Hidden Mitten play Double Door tonight. The band specializes in turbo-charged melodies and, from what we can tell, super-short mini-skirts. How can that not rock? If you miss them tonight we also hear they're playing The Mutiny tomorrow, mini-pitchers in hand.

1572 N. Milwaukee, 9 p.m., $8, 21+

Wine
We used to do fundraisers for St Jude's Hospital when we were kids, so we're pleased to see some grown-ups carrying on this tradition. The St. Jude Auxiliary Board is hosting a wine tasting at Webster's Wine Bar tonight to raise money for the venerable hospital that specializes in treating kids with cancer and researching new ways to fight the disease.

1480 W Webster, 7 p.m. - 10 p/m., 21+, $35 donation includes appetizers and drink tickets

Books
Tonight's Bookslut Reading at Clever Alice will feature authors Paul Verhaeghen, Deb Olin Unferth, and Dominique Fabre. Please note that other news outlets are listing an incorrect location for the reading, so make sure you head over to Clever Alice!

750 N Franklin, 7:30 p.m., free

Clubs
Modular kicks off the Chicago version of their massively popular L.A. party at The Burlington tonight. Jordan Z, Willy Joy, and Marco Morales are DJing, so we suspect the vibe will be a little more electro and a little less indie than usual, so break out your dancing pants. RSVP for a private pre-party with free PBR to help lubricate your hips.

3425 W Fullerton, 8:30 p.m., 21+, free
