2008_3_5.juryduty.jpgIf you don't want to spend time in a courthouse for jury duty, here's a little tip: Don't make a bomb threat instead. That's a pretty much guaranteed way to spend yet more time intimately involved with the criminal justice system. But no one told Addison resident Toby Owhoka, who placed a call to the Jury Commission in DuPage County yesterday, complaining that she didn't want to sit on a jury.

"During her call, she made numerous threats, including a threat to blow up the courthouse," the [DuPage County] sheriff's office said. The courthouse was searched and no explosives were found. Police traced the call and arrested Owhoka at her home.

D'oh. At least now the DuPage sheriff can go back to signing stuff and awkwardly posing for identical photos.
