Jordan Wins In Court

Those of us who grew up in Chicago are used to watching Michael Jordan dominate on the court. Yesterday, MJ dominated in court as the Illinois Supreme Court declined to hear an appeal in a case brought by Karla Knafel against the basketball superstar.

Knafel, with whom MJ had an affair, sued Jordan claiming that he had promised her $5 million in return for her silence and not filing a paternity suit against him after she became pregnant back in 1991.

In 2002, Jordan supposedly paid the woman $250,000 but then sued the woman claiming she tried to extort him for the money after paternity tests proved that he wasn't the baby daddy.

In December, a state appeals court ruled that even if he had promised her money, she had mislead him about the paternity of the child in order to get such a promise. By not hearing the case, the Supreme Court lets the lower court's ruling stand.

Not that MJ hasn't had to shell out the big bucks to the women in his life in the past year... his divorce from wife Juanita -- they first seperated in 2002 after the Knafel affair became public, reconciled and split again in 2006 -- ended up the most costly celebrity divorce ever!
