It Gives You Wings

Red Bull. Love it or hate it, the energy drink knows how to make its mark. In fact, Red Bull just announced this year's flugtag (flying day) events and they're coming back to Chicago! This time at the North Avenue Beach.

While we're not personally a big fan of the drink, we were delighted to attend the flugtag in Nashville last year (where the Kentucky's Rocky Top Rocket broke the USA record by flying 155 feet) and it was a blast! We hear that 2003's Chicago debut was filled with Harry Caray, Chicago style-hot dogs and baseball rivalries. Maybe this year we can break that record again.

And just in case you're not convinced watching strange people in stranger costumes throw themselves into a river is fun, here's what all the fuss is about:

Apply through June 6 for the September 6 event. Thirty teams of up to five members will be chosen to compete, so make your giant flying psychedelic frog in a Cubs outfit count!
