This way to The Parlor Room

2008_3_31.parlor.jpgWe're ready for spring too, but with yet more cold weather on the horizon, perhaps it's time to hunker down with a cozy reading.

The Parlor Reads is a reading series on the first Tuesday of every month sponsored by Bad at Sports, a contemporary arts podcast. In addition to the live readings, The Parlor records each event as a podcast for later listening. You can check out their first two readings here.

Tomorrow's reader is Amina Cain, who will read stories from her forthcoming collection I Go to Some Hollow coming out in January 2009. Amina's work has been published in numerous journals including two local favorites, (recently deceased) 3rd Bed and The 2nd Hand. For a taste of her work, read her story, "Two Dimensional War", in La Petite Zine. Amina also co-curates the Red Rover Series, so maybe she'll bring their experimental style to the Green Lantern.

The Parlor Reads, Tuesday, April 1, 7 p.m., The Green Lantern, 1511 N Milwaukee, 2nd Floor, Free.
