St. Xavier Dining Room Shut Down by City Health Department

By Chuck Sudo in Food on Apr 2, 2008 3:10PM

2008_04_SXU.gifThe city Health Department shut down the main dining room at St. Xavier University on the south side yesterday in what was called an "unacceptable" rodent infestation.

An inspection found that the food preparation area and storage areas, among others, had mouse droppings. An earlier inspection found gaps in exit doors wide enough for rodents and insects to enter the dining room, which is located in St. Xavier's Warde Academic Center. The dining room will remain closed until the university passes re-inspection.

Phone calls to St. Xavier University requesting comment were not returned as of posting.
